The official sale of Etihad Rail tickets for the new Dubai-Abu Dhabi route commenced on its website, eithadrail.ae, ahead of the service's launch on September 30. Passengers can now secure seats on this passenger rail connection, which aims to facilitate travel between the two emirates. The journey is slated to commence with the official opening of Dubai Al Yalayis Station in Jumeirah Golf Estates, a significant expansion to the UAE's passenger rail network.
Fares for the ride start at Dh39 for a one-way trip in Comfort Class, with Premium Class tickets priced at Dh109. These fares are notably more economical compared to the Abu Dhabi-Fujairah route, which begins at Dh55 for Comfort Class. The Dubai station will link directly to Etihad Rail’s Mohammed Bin Zayed City station in Abu Dhabi, with an estimated travel time of 57 minutes.
The UAE's passenger rail network commenced operations in June on the Abu Dhabi-Fujairah route. Etihad Rail reported that over 70,000 tickets have been purchased during its initial phase, with an average booking period of 12 days. Dubai's new station is situated near Jumeirah Golf Estates Metro Station, enabling a connection between the national rail network and Dubai Metro.
Etihad Rail's expansion in Dubai is expected to bring about several changes when Al Yalayis station opens on September 30.
