Erdogan calls Gaza 'the most inhuman and shameful concentration camp of our time'

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan denounced Gaza as "the most inhuman and shameful concentration camp of our time" during a speech at the UN General Assembly on Tuesday. He expressed deep offense over the absence of Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, who was unable to attend due to the US rejecting his visa application. "This injustice against our Palestinian brothers and sisters deeply offends the conscience of humanity," Erdogan stated.

Erdogan vehemently condemned the ongoing situation in Gaza, emphasizing that "nobody with a conscience can close their eyes to what is happening there." He recounted the desperate search for missing loved ones under the rubble, three years after the conflict began. The Turkish leader described Gaza as "the world's largest graveyard for children" and the site with the highest rate of child amputations globally, attributing these harsh realities to years of Israeli "state terror."
