Cyera raises $400M more amid AI agent security push

Cyera, a cybersecurity startup, has secured an additional $400 million in funding from Goldman Sachs. This brings the total capital raised to $600 million, with the earlier Series G round in June valued Cyera at $12 billion. The company's valuation is now reported to be "over $12 billion."

Cyera's software helps large enterprises manage their sensitive data spread across dozens of systems. The platform identifies where business records are kept, who can access them, and if they are stored securely.

Recently, Cyera expanded its focus to AI agents. Two new products, Agent Guardian and Cyera Endpoint, were launched to protect business records from AI-related cybersecurity risks. Agent Guardian creates an inventory of AI agents interacting with a company's data, then scans them for vulnerabilities. It also checks agent tools and MCP servers for cybersecurity issues. Customers can define agent policies, and the system can block risky actions or quarantine agents.

Cyera Endpoint monitors AI agents on employee devices, preventing data from being loaded into non-work agents and stopping agents from moving records off the device without permission.

In a recent acquisition, Cyera bought Oasis Security Ltd. for $1 billion. Oasis provides a platform for securing nonhuman identities, or NHIs, used by AI agents to log into corporate applications. The acquisition will help Cyera secure these NHIs and identify cybersecurity risks associated with them.

Cyera's CEO, Yotam Segev, noted that AI infrastructure is advancing faster than the security architecture around it. The new funding will enable Cyera to develop more AI security features and expand its adoption in the federal government and international markets.
