Bavarian Loan Works: Former Bayern Munich star praises loanee on his team

Former Bayern Munich star and coach Miroslav Klose recently praised Javier Fernández, the young player on loan from Bayern to 1.FC Nürnberg, in an interview with Bild. Klose, who has been coaching at Nürnberg for the third season, highlighted Fernández's talent and character, comparing him positively to other Bayern players like Thomas Müller and Toni Kroos.

Müller, as Klose put it, "misses three absolute sitters and then, five minutes later, he’s standing there as if nothing had happened, and then he smashes one in." Kroos, initially a left winger for Bayern, made fewer mistakes and lost the ball less often, eventually becoming a top player. Klose emphasized the importance of keeping Fernández grounded, noting a few instances in training where he needs to release the ball earlier, but also praised his continued determination to dribble and beat opponents.

Despite making only eight appearances and recording one assist in his second loan spell, Fernández has made six appearances this season, contributed one assist, and is still searching for his first goal at Nürnberg.
