[Asian Games] S. Korea hammers Hong Kong for 2nd straight win in baseball

NAGOYA — South Korea dominated Hong Kong 13-0 on Tuesday as they secured their second consecutive Group B baseball victory at Toyohashi Municipal Baseball Stadium in Toyohashi, located 85 kilometers southeast of the main host city, Nagoya. South Korean pitchers, comprising starters Choi Min-seok and five others, achieved a perfect game while striking out 12 batters.

Cho Hyeong-woo hit a grand slam, and Roh Si-hwan drove home a two-run home run in South Korea's second back-to-back win in the Asian Games. The South Korean baseball team, consisting of stars from the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO), aims to win its fifth consecutive gold medal in baseball. They began their quest with a 5-0 triumph over Chinese Taipei on Monday.

South Korea will face Thailand in the next match on Wednesday. The top two teams from each group will advance to the Super Round, where the two best teams will compete for the gold medal on Saturday at Toyohashi. Roh Roh Si-hwan opened the scoring with a two-run blast in the top of the first inning, followed by South Korea scoring in each of the first three frames, with Cho Hyeong-woo hitting a grand slam in the third.
