Aman Centre promotes digital safety awareness

The Protection and Social Rehabilitation Centre (Aman), an institution affiliated with the Qatar Foundation for Social Work, is joining the national digital safety campaign titled "A Digitally Aware Family." The initiative, organized by the Ministry of Social Development and Family, aims to heighten public awareness regarding safe technology use and safeguard families, particularly children and adolescents, from threats posed by the digital environment.

The campaign underscores that digital safety is a collective responsibility, urging families to embrace positive and responsible technology practices.

As the campaign unfolds, Aman is concentrating on preventing technology-related blackmail and assisting children, adolescents, and families in identifying unsafe digital behaviors. Acting Executive Director Fadl Mohammed Al Kaabi affirmed Aman's dedication to preventive measures, emphasizing the significance of the national campaign in uniting efforts and reinforcing the shared responsibility of families, institutions, and society in fostering a secure digital environment.

Director Hanan Al Ali noted that the centre's involvement blends digital communication with direct awareness activities. The campaign will disseminate its messages through social media, complemented by school and kindergarten workshops tailored to various age groups. Al Ali stressed that the initiative seeks to enable children to safeguard themselves, empower families to support their children, and foster awareness among all individuals on when and how to seek assistance against digital risks.
