Activists file notices for protests against election fraud in four Russian cities: St. Petersburg, Perm, Izhevsk, and Kazan

Activists in four Russian cities have notified authorities of plans to hold rallies against allegations of election fraud following the recent State Duma elections. In St. Petersburg, Yegor Pryanishnikov, a member of the Rassvet Party, has filed notices for rallies in Victory Park on October 3 and 4, expecting 499 attendees. Alexey Oglobin from Perm plans a rally at the Esplanade on October 4 with 500 participants.

Dmitry Morozov from Izhevsk intends to hold a rally near the Friendship of Peoples monument on October 3, also anticipating 500 attendees. In Kazan, Dmitry Rumyantsev, a former campaign office head for Boris Nadezhdin, has filed notices for rallies on Freedom Square on October 3 and 4. Reports suggest that United Russia's vote share was inflated to nearly twice its actual level, with experts estimating actual turnout at about 40%, while the Central Election Commission reported 59%.
