Yu, 13, smashes record again with second Asian Games gold

Thirteen-year-old Chinese swimming prodigy Yu Zidi shattered another Asian Games record, securing her second gold medal in two days at the Tokyo games. Two years from the Los Angeles Olympics, Yu dazzled with a 2-minute 6.10-second performance in the women's 200-meter individual medley, nearly a full second faster than the previous Asian Games record and just 0.40 seconds shy of the world record held by Canada's Summer McIntosh. Yu expressed her excitement, crediting her team's hard work for the achievement.

The teenager claimed a second gold medal just an hour after her 200-meter butterfly victory, making her the youngest swimming world championships medallist in history at 12 years old. Yu said she was even happier with the second gold than the first, acknowledging there were points she needs to pay more attention to.

On the opening day of the pool events, China dominated with six out of seven golds. However, Japan's Shin Ohashi and China's Dong Zhihao shared the gold in the men's 100-meter breaststroke after a dead heat. Ohashi expressed his frustration with the tie, while China's defending champion Qin Haiyang finished third.
