YEA presents start-up kits to 620 skilled trainees in Ahafo

The Youth Employment Agency (YEA) in Ahafo region recently presented start-up kits to 620 young trainees who have completed skills training programmes. These trainees, from six districts, have undergone six months of apprenticeship training in trades such as hairdressing, carpentry, masonry, and catering. The Regional YEA Director for Ahafo, Razak Awudu, explained that the distribution of tools aims to support beneficiaries in transitioning from training to self-employment by equipping them with the necessary resources to establish their own businesses and utilize their newly acquired skills productively.

The start-up kits will be distributed to beneficiaries in six districts: Asunafo North, Asunafo South, Asutifi North, Asutifi South, Tano North, and Tano South. Mr. Awudu has directed the district directors to ensure the fair distribution of the toolkits in accordance with guidelines from both the National and Regional Directorates of the YEA. This initiative is expected to create economic opportunities for the beneficiaries, contributing to the efforts to address youth unemployment in the Ahafo region.

District YEA Directors Isaac Yaw Mensah and Justice Acheampong of Asutifi South and Tano North, respectively, expressed their appreciation for the intervention. They pledged to ensure a fair distribution of the start-up tools and encouraged young people in their districts to capitalize on the skills training and employment opportunities offered by the YEA.
