Trump’s new arch plan: snipers and drones

President Donald Trump has unveiled an updated design for his proposed triumphal arch near the National Mall, which now includes a drone port and sniper platform. The arch, which would stand at 250 feet tall, was initially planned but has faced delays and opposition from the National Park Service due to concerns over its impact on nearby historical sites.

Trump has agreed to convert the arch into a "top grade Military Complex/Triumphal Arch" at the request of the United States Military for National Security purposes. The design now includes "snipers, on both the roof and plaza areas, and additionally have and hold large quantities of sniper ammunition in storage." While it remains unclear if this version of the arch will be built, the administration appears prepared to move forward.

This plan echoes Trump's "Ballroom/Military Complex," which received a Supreme Court approval despite lower court rulings against its construction without congressional approval. Trump has repeatedly used "national security" as an excuse to advance his projects and criticized the media as a threat to national security in the wake of backlash to his press ban.
