Trump warns he has entered ‘deciding mode’ on Iran

The United States has issued fresh security warnings for Americans in the Middle East, predicting potential "unforeseen escalation" as President Donald Trump weighs his next move in the ongoing conflict with Iran. While the White House provided no explanation for Trump's abrupt return to the White House from Camp David on Saturday, the State Department urged Americans to prepare for travel disruptions, including flight cancellations and airspace closures.

The volatile security environment was attributed to recent hostilities involving the Houthis, who have targeted civilian airports in Saudi Arabia. Amidst these tensions, Trump indicated he faces a major decision regarding Iran, stating he is in "deciding mode" and considering options ranging from "wiping Iran out" to making a deal, including the possibility of a full-scale attack on the nation.

Trump reportedly questioned whether he would "blow the entire nation up," to which Iran responded by warning against any significant US attack, threatening sustained retaliation that could target US bases and allied interests in the region. In a bid to mitigate the growing crisis, Pakistan's Ambassador to the UN, Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, announced that Pakistan would highlight its mediatory role and push for dialogue and diplomacy during the UN General Assembly.
