The good, the bad and the ugly from Broncos’ win over Jaguars

The Denver Broncos secured a 20-13 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 2, marking their first win since last November. This win provided a much-needed rebound from their season-opening loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. The game showcased several aspects of the team's performance that can be categorized as good, bad, and even worse.

One of the key positives for the Broncos was the impressive performance of Jaylen Waddle. After a disappointing debut against the Chiefs, Waddle stepped up in this game, catching eight passes for 138 yards, which proved to be crucial for the team's offensive success. Another standout was J.K. Dobbins, who, despite leaving the game with a hamstring injury, played exceptionally well with RJ Harvey out.

Dobbins carried the ball ten times for 39 yards and scored his first career touchdown, showcasing his potential as a future running back for the Broncos.

The team's offensive coordinator, Davis Webb, received praise for his effective playcalling, despite calls for him to relinquish playcalling duties after Week 1. His contributions to the Broncos' game plan were deemed instrumental in their performance.

However, the Broncos had their fair share of issues as well. The offense struggled to gain traction in the first three quarters, with the team scoring just six points. Additionally, the Broncos faced numerous penalties, committing ten infractions compared to the Jaguars' four. This penalty problem, which plagued the team during the preseason, persisted and could prove problematic as the season continues.

The game's most glaring disappointment came from quarterback Bo Nix, who committed a costly interception in the red zone with under two minutes left in the first half. This poor decision not only cost the Broncos points but also highlighted a recurring issue with Nix's decision-making under pressure. Despite bouncing back later in the game, this incident underscored a significant concern for the team's quarterback play.
