Meta's highest-paid employee, Alexandr Wang, issued an apology on X for making a lighthearted remark about a tech executive using Meta's autonomous AI agent, Muse, to book travel. The incident occurred when WebFlow CTO Utkarsh Sengar shared his experience of using Muse to arrange air travel, praising the seamless process. Wang initially celebrated this achievement, but then playfully advised Sengar to book a return flight and "go home," jokingly apologizing for his "dumb joke."

Meta unveiled Muse earlier this month, an AI assistant designed to perform tasks like sending emails, listing properties for sale, and booking travel, aiming to offer "personal superintelligence" on Meta's global platform. Initially available for US users, Muse is accessible through both a standalone app and within Meta's WhatsApp messaging platform, with free and paid tiers.

This new AI operates through a direct link to the user's calendar, email, financial services, smart home hardware, and health platforms, granting users complete control over their data and the option to revoke access at any time.
