Ruto meets Kenyans living in New York, witnesses signing of Equity Group Holdings deal

President William Ruto met with Kenyans residing in New York and witnessed the signing of a joint Declaration of Intent between the Kenya Government, the United Nations, and Equity Group Holdings. The Kenya Diaspora Impact Platform, unveiled during the event, aims to deepen ties, formalize declarations of intent, and unlock investment and development opportunities for Kenyans living abroad.

The platform, spearheaded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the State Department for Diaspora Affairs, focuses on sectors such as housing, health, and agriculture, and seeks to utilize the skills and networks of the Kenyan diaspora. President Ruto emphasized that the diaspora plays a crucial role in Kenya's growth story, citing remittances, investment, expertise, innovation, and global networks.

He highlighted the government's efforts to build a stronger bridge between Kenyans abroad and opportunities at home, focusing on trust, transparency, and measurable results. The President also addressed the successful elimination of brokers in fuel importation, emphasizing the country's stable and reliable fuel supply model. Additionally, he highlighted the government's achievements in sectors such as agriculture, education, housing, health, and digital infrastructure, and urged the diaspora to rely on reliable information and ignore critics of the Social Health Authority (SHA).
