Russian attacks kill at least 6, wound 38 across Ukraine, as overnight strike hit shopping mall in Zaporizhzhia

Overnight Russian attacks across Ukraine resulted in at least six fatalities and 38 injuries, according to local authorities on September 21. The city of Zaporizhzhia bore the brunt of an overnight strike, with a shopping mall and an educational institution targeted. Russian forces reportedly launched 172 drones, of which 148 were intercepted, according to the Air Force.

In Zaporizhzhia and its surrounding region, eight people were wounded, including a 52-year-old man and an elderly woman who were evacuated due to an overnight strike on multi-story apartment buildings. Three people were killed, and 12 others were wounded in eastern Donetsk Oblast, while one was killed and five were wounded in northeastern Kharkiv Oblast.

A woman and a 13-year-old boy were killed and severely burned, respectively, in a Russian drone strike near Lozova. In Sumy Oblast, a 38-year-old woman and a 54-year-old man were killed by Russian attacks, with three others, including a 14-year-old girl, also wounded. In Kherson Oblast, nine people were wounded, and in Odesa, a Russian strike targeted a supermarket chain's warehouses without causing casualties.

In Chernihiv Oblast, Russian troops attacked an agricultural enterprise in the village of Semenivka, destroying a hangar and damaging machinery. In Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, a 20-year-old woman was wounded, while a 20-year-old man who was severely wounded in a September 3 Russian attack in Dnipro passed away in the hospital.
