Putrajaya condemns Al-Aqsa storming, warns provocations risk sparking wider global conflict

PUTRAJAYA, September 21 — Malaysia firmly denounces the repeated intrusions by the Zionist regime into the Al-Aqsa Mosque grounds as an egregious provocation that desecrates the hallowed al-Haram al-Sharif. Dr Zulkifli Hasan, a minister in the Prime Minister's Department responsible for religious affairs, emphasized that the Al-Aqsa Mosque, serving as the first qibla and the third holiest site for Muslims, must be safeguarded.

Dr Hasan asserted in a recent statement, "History demonstrates that barbaric incursions into Al-Aqsa have consistently ignited a wave of resolve among the Muslim community." He cautioned that permitting the Zionist regime to normalize such extremist actions could potentially trigger a more intricate global conflict. Dr Zulkifli called upon the international community to swiftly and decisively confront the Zionist regime, rather than merely offering verbal condemnations.

Additionally, he urged Muslims within the country to maintain unity and perform the qunut nazilah prayer, so that Allah SWT may protect the sanctity of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and liberate Palestinian land from oppressive rule. This statement emerged following the reported entry of approximately 100 Israeli settlers into the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound on Sunday, under close Israeli security supervision, prior to the observance of Yom Kippur.
