Putrajaya condemns Al-Aqsa storming, warns provocations risk sparking wider global conflict

PUTRAJAYA, Sept 21 — The Malaysian government has strongly condemned the repeated intrusions by the Zionist regime into the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, describing it as an extreme provocation that desecrates the holy site al-Haram al-Sharif. Dr Zulkifli Hasan, a minister in the Prime Minister's Department responsible for religious affairs, emphasized the need to protect the Al-Aqsa Mosque, which holds significant importance as the first qibla and the third holiest site for Muslims.

He stated that history has shown that barbaric intrusions into Al-Aqsa have always galvanized the Muslim ummah. The Israeli regime must not be allowed to normalize such extremist actions, as they risk escalating into a broader global conflict, according to Dr Hasan.

In response to the ongoing situation, Dr Zulkifli Hasan called upon the international community to take prompt and decisive action against the Zionist regime, rather than merely issuing verbal condemnations. He also urged Malaysian Muslims to remain united in solidarity and to perform the qunut nazilah prayer, in the hope that Allah SWT would safeguard the sanctity of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and liberate Palestinian land from the clutches of tyranny.

The statement was released following an incident where approximately 100 Israeli settlers entered the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound on Sunday, prior to the observance of Yom Kippur, under the watchful eyes of Israeli security forces. This development came to light through a report by Bernama.
