On 28 September 2026, the Physics of the Cosmos Community (PhysPAG) held a community meeting virtually to discuss the outcomes of the Ad ASTRA workshop which took place from 1-3 September 2026 at Caltech. The meeting commenced at 12:00pm ET / 9:00am PT.
The primary objective of the PhysPAG meeting was to analyze the results of the Ad ASTRA workshop and assess the science priorities and capabilities that emerged from it. The PhysPAG Executive Committee provided an initial evaluation during the meeting.
Attendees were encouraged to share their insights and identify any major science questions or capabilities that were not adequately represented in the Astro2020, Enduring Quests, and Daring Visions reports, or were not discussed in the Ad Astra Workshop. They also sought to determine if there were any capabilities that PhysPAG should consider essential to achieving its highest-priority science goals.
PhysPAG intends to collaborate with COPAG and ExoPAG in developing the final set of trade spaces. During this meeting, PhysPAG will advocate for its interests in the process. Plenary talks, oral and poster contributions, and recordings of plenary talks from the Ad ASTRA Workshop are available on the workshop's website. The Day 3 Workshop Synthesis talks and discussions are of particular interest.
Members of the PhysPAG community were invited to submit any comments, questions, or feedback through a form that was available from 24 September to 30 September. The PhysPAG email news list will keep subscribers informed about the meeting.
