NDC thugs looted shops, destroyed billboards in my community – Keyamo raises alarm

Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has accused NDC loyalists of looting shops and destroying campaign billboards in his community of Effurun, located in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State. In a post on his X handle, Keyamo claimed these incidents occurred on September 18, 2026. He emphasized the need for the world to witness the actions of the NDC's thugs in Effurun.

According to Keyamo, the attackers vandalized billboards placed by Tompolo’s door-to-door campaign organization and entered people's shops, brandishing dangerous weapons to loot the establishments.

Keyamo criticized the perceived inequality in the handling of political violence, stating that the response would have been different if the victims were members of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He argued that if the situation had unfolded against APC members, prominent sections of the press and human rights groups would have vehemently condemned the incident.

Keyamo drew a comparison between the recent blockade of Peter Obi’s entourage in Benue State and the recent events in Delta State, asserting that what happened in Effurun was far more severe.

He alleged that law enforcement officers were present during the attack, corroborated by video evidence and a substantial body of proof. Keyamo announced his intention to submit a petition to the Inspector-General of Police, expressing his desire for a thorough investigation into the incident and accountability for those found guilty. He emphasized that he had previously cautioned his supporters against taking the law into their own hands and reiterated his commitment to seek justice through the legal system.
