NBC Commemorates 75 Years, Reaffirms Commitment to Nigeria

Nigerian Bottling Company (NBC) Limited celebrated its 75th anniversary in Nigeria with a grand event held at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja. The special guest of honor, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, was represented by Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, who congratulated NBC on the milestone and praised the Coca-Cola system for its ongoing investment in the country.

Delivering the President's remarks, Secretary Akume highlighted the journey that began 75 years ago in Lagos and expressed optimism about the future. He spoke about the potential for more investment, stronger industries, better job opportunities, and deeper local production, all of which would provide greater prospects for Nigerians.

Chairman of Coca-Cola HBC, Anastassis David, reflected on the company's inception, noting that in 1951, Anastasios Leventis had negotiated the rights for the entire nation. He described it as a significant and bold decision, a declaration of faith in Nigeria's importance, scale, and prospects. He emphasized the belief in the people and communities across the nation, and the confidence in the long-term benefits of investment.

Chairperson of the Board, NBC, Sola David-Borha, underscored the company's continued success through trust, which was built over time via consistent performance and robust governance.
