Naqvi due in Iran for talks as Hormuz terms conveyed

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi is set to visit Iran on Sunday for crucial talks regarding the future of the Strait of Hormuz, as stated by Iranian parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf. Ghalibaf confirmed that Iran's terms for reopening the strategic waterway have been communicated to the United States through intermediaries, emphasizing that Iran's demands will not be met until conditions and American commitments are satisfied.

Ghalibaf warned that failure to adhere to these conditions would render any return to pre-negotiation circumstances impossible, and the Strait of Hormuz would remain closed.

Ghalibaf's comments were echoed by Mohsen Rezaei, the head of Iran's supreme national security council, who stated that Iran had conveyed its demands to the US via a mediator from Qatar. The conditions stated include an end to the war on all fronts, the release of frozen funds, and the cessation of the naval blockade. Rezaei further warned that the US would confront an Iran that is significantly more prepared than during the war's inception, citing advancements in hypersonic missile technology, air defenses, and electronic warfare systems.

In an ominous statement, Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya central military command threatened that any misstep by the US in its dealings with Iran would result in attacks on all US bases and interests in the region, with no boundaries or limitations. This strong stance underscores Iran's resolve and readiness to defend its national interests, even at the cost of challenging the dominance of the US in the region.
