Moushumi Chatterjee’s advice to daughter: ‘You have a boyfriend, don’t have to marry him’

Veteran actress Moushumi Chatterjee, known for her debut film Balika Badhu in 1967, offered advice to her daughter Megha Mukherjee at a recent event. The 70-year-old actress, who credits herself as "progressive," told the audience that while her daughter can have a boyfriend, she doesn't have to marry him. Moushumi emphasized the importance of prioritizing oneself in today's changing times.

She urged women to be careful and self-centered, noting that the world has evolved since the Gita's teachings about change. Moushumi also highlighted the need for men to take care of their in-laws' homes, challenging the traditional expectation of women solely managing household duties. The actress, who lost her elder daughter Payal to diabetes in 2019, stressed the importance of not repeating mistakes and learning from them.
