Milei says Europe 'is sinking' ahead of trip to France

President Javier Milei has expressed his concerns about the future of Europe, describing it as sinking due to overregulation, migration, and wokeism. In an interview with French broadcaster LCI, Milei stated that Europeans disliked his ally Donald Trump because he truthfully pointed out Europe's decline. He criticized Europe's welfare state, excessive regulations, and migration issues, while emphasizing the disastrous impact of wokeism.

Milei singled out Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and former Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban as enlightened European politicians who understand the situation. He described Europe as being divided into the US, Russia, and China, praising the US and Israel for embodying the values that make the West great. Milei argued that Europe's capital is not Brussels but Rome, as the latter represents the historical and cultural essence of Europe.

The La Libertad Avanza leader also reiterated Argentina's claim to the Malvinas Islands, seeking its return through diplomacy instead of military action. During the interview, Milei highlighted his strong ties with France, praising the relationship with President Emmanuel Macron. His remarks come at a time when far-right parties are gaining popularity in major European countries like Germany, the United Kingdom, and France.
