Melaka delivers 2,092 major programmes, draws six million visitors

Melaka has successfully executed 2,092 major programs, ranging from national celebrations to tourism events, sports, cultural activities, and community outreach, between 2025 and September 2026, according to Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh. These initiatives have drawn approximately six million visitors, garnering global attention after Melaka was chosen to host World Tourism Day and the World Tourism Conference, which attracted 155 delegations and 40,000 visitors.

The state has also hosted visits from His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, the King of Malaysia, as well as leaders including the prime minister, deputy prime minister, cabinet ministers, top national leadership, ambassadors, diplomats, and international delegations from various countries.

Ab Rauf emphasized that Melaka is now not only a destination but is becoming a meeting point for the nation and the world. He highlighted that when major events choose Melaka, the country's top leadership and world delegations gather there, which speaks to the reputation built through the collective efforts of the state and federal governments.

The success of these programs, he said, is due to the discipline, meticulousness, and high quality of work of the civil service, not just publicity. As a result, the satisfaction rate of Melaka's residents toward the state's public services in Phase 1 of 2026 has risen to 93.6 percent, up from 87.82 percent the previous year. This statistic is the true reflection of the slogan "Melaka Sayang Rakyat" (Melaka Loves the People), which is not merely a slogan but a testament to the quality of service returned to the 1.05 million residents of Melaka.
