Maharashtra Teacher Recruitment: 4,390 Candidates Recommended In Converted Round Through Pavitra Portal

Mumbai, Maharashtra: The Maharashtra School Education Department has published the converted-round merit list, recommending 4,390 candidates for teacher and shikshan sevak positions via the Pavitra portal. These appointments target vacant seats under parallel reservation categories, following the first regular round of recruitment. The selections encompass roles at local bodies and private schools opting out of the interview process.

The recruitment criteria are based on the Teacher Aptitude and Intelligence Test (TAIT) 2025, administered online from May 27 to June 5, 2025. Out of 2,28,808 applicants, 2,11,308 took the exam. A total of 1,70,108 candidates completed the self-certification procedure. Advertisements for both interview and non-interview roles were posted on the Pavitra portal between May 1 and July 20, 2026. Interested candidates submitted their preferences between August 6 and 16.

The first regular-round merit list, covering 13,119 non-interview vacancies, was unveiled on August 27. Consequently, the total number of candidates recommended to date stands at 17,509, surpassing the 19,754 advertised positions. Among the converted-round recommendations, 3,105 are allocated to Zilla Parishad schools, 427 to municipal corporations, 527 to schools managed by the Tribal Development Department, 324 to private educational institutions, five to municipal councils and nagar panchayats, and two to government Vidyaniketan schools.

Candidates can verify their selection status via the official portal, accessible through individual accounts or general merit lists downloadable from the website. Document verification is scheduled from September 24 to 28, with appointments issued through counselling between October 5 and 9.
