Lindsay Clancy's ex-husband says he forgave her for killing their three children

Patrick Clancy, 36, shared his heart-wrenching account of grief, his three children's untimely deaths, and his journey towards moving forward in an interview with 60 Minutes. He revealed that he felt a sense of purposelessness after the tragic loss of his children - Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months - in December 2022. Patrick himself feared he wouldn't witness his 35th birthday, let alone live through the ordeal.

His ex-wife, Lindsay Clancy, was initially suspected of the murders, leading to a mistrial. The court is yet to decide if Lindsay will be retried for the killings. The Clancy family has been under intense public scrutiny, with Patrick and his current wife, Rachel Danis, facing online suspicion and speculation.

In October 2022, Lindsay showed signs of postpartum depression, seeking help from medical professionals. She was admitted to a program for patients with postpartum depression but was discharged after a day of treatment. She later admitted to another program and was prescribed a series of prescription drugs. Patrick struggled to help his wife navigate the medical system and was unaware of managing her postpartum illness.

The low point for Patrick came in December when Lindsay checked herself into McLean Psychiatric Hospital for depression. Less than three weeks later, Patrick discovered his ex-wife's lifeless body in the backyard, and his children lay strangled in the basement. Callan survived for four days before passing away in his arms.

Patrick decided to publicly forgive Lindsay, stating, "I saw headlines that said, you know, Killer Mom, Baby Murderer, Monster. And none of them were accurate." He believes that Lindsay's actions were a result of her mental illness. Despite the legal battles and public scrutiny, Patrick moved to New York City in April to seek anonymity.

He remarried in April 2024 to Dr. Rachel Danis, a fertility doctor, and they are starting a family of their own. Patrick is preparing to share the stories of his late children with his future offspring.
