Lee's approval rating rises for 1st time in 10 weeks to 34.8%: poll

President Lee Jae Myung's approval rating experienced a surprising boost for the first time in 10 weeks, according to a recent poll. The rise in support can be attributed to Lee's clarification of key political matters during a press conference, according to Realmeter, the pollster responsible for the survey. During the poll conducted from last Monday to Friday, Lee's positive assessments of his job performance increased by 1 percentage point to 34.8 percent, while negative assessments rose slightly to 63.4 percent.

This marked the first improvement in Lee's approval rating in 10 weeks, following a rating of 48.9 percent on July 13. The approval rating gradually climbed throughout the week, starting at 32.9 percent on Tuesday and reaching 37.2 percent on Friday, the day of the press conference. At the beginning of the week, Lee's approval rating was in decline due to controversies surrounding the qualifications of Justice Minister nominee Kim Seung-won and Gender Equality Minister nominee.
