Lee's approval rating rises for 1st time in 10 weeks to 34.8%: poll

President Lee Jae Myung's approval rating surged for the first time in 10 weeks, reaching 34.8% according to a recent poll. This increase was attributed to his clarification of key political issues during a press conference. The poll, conducted among 2,507 adults across the nation from Monday to Friday, showed a 1 percentage point rise in positive assessments of Lee's job performance, up from 33.8% the previous week to 34.8%.

Simultaneously, negative assessments remained steady, increasing by just 0.1 percentage point to 63.4%.

This marked the first upward trend in Lee's approval rating in 10 weeks, a stark contrast to his 48.9% rating on July 13. The approval rating exhibited a gradual upward trajectory throughout the week, climbing from 32.9% on Tuesday to 37.2% on Friday, the day of the press conference. However, Lee's approval rating initially dipped at the beginning of the week due to controversy surrounding the qualifications of Justice Minister nominee Kim Seung-won and Gender Equality Minister nominee.
