LA Rams pay tribute to NBC reporter Eliana Moreno, pilot George Marciniw on MNF

As the Los Angeles Rams played host to the New York Giants on Monday Night Football, a somber tribute took place in the press box. The Rams honored NBC reporter Eliana Moreno and pilot George Marciniw, who passed away in a helicopter crash last week. A memorial was set up in the press box, featuring framed photos of the two victims, white flowers, and place cards with their names written on them, stating, "Forever part of the Los Angeles media family."

Moreno and Marciniw were reporting on a fatal bus crash when their helicopter encountered mechanical issues. Their aircraft crashed upon landing, resulting in a fiery explosion that also claimed the life of a pedestrian, 29-year-old Edy Gutierrez Mejia. Moreno, fondly known as Eli on social media, had recently gotten engaged less than a year before the accident.

She had harbored a dream of becoming a news reporter since the age of 11, which she ultimately achieved through hard work and determination. Her family expressed immense pride in her accomplishments and comfort in knowing she died doing what she loved.

Meanwhile, Marciniw was nearing the end of his career, having completed over 30 years of flying and 14,000 hours of flight time. Condolences poured in from all corners for Moreno, Marciniw, and Mejia during this tragic and difficult time.
