Grades for all 20 Premier League clubs based on the season so far

After five games of the Premier League season, a wide range of grades have been given to the 20 clubs. Brighton has received an A+ for their energetic, creative and hungry performances, particularly in attack. Hull City also earned an A+ after securing big wins and showing great defensive comfort. Manchester City, despite some defensive concerns, have impressed with five wins from five, making them title favorites if they improve at the back.

Brentford has defied expectations with an A grade, thanks to their high-pressing play and ability to capitalize on key moments. Arsenal received a lowly A- after a surprising loss to Brighton, but still have title hopes. Ipswich Town and Leeds United have both earned B+ grades for their strong performances and potential to push for European competition.

Everton, Liverpool, Newcastle United, and Sunderland have all received B, B-, and C grades respectively. While Liverpool and Newcastle have shown promising balance and energy, Sunderland have struggled defensively. Chelsea have received a C grade due to defensive issues, while Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth have earned C- and D grades, respectively, due to inconsistent performances and defensive concerns.

Aston Villa and Crystal Palace have received D grades, with both clubs facing challenges in defense and needing to improve their consistency. Fulham and Coventry City have both earned D grades, with the former showing promising signs of improvement and the latter displaying defensive upgrades and offensive potential. Manchester United have received a D- after a sluggish start, with concerns about their defensive play.
