Five Arrested For Alleged Murder Of 26-Year-Old Man In Ulhasnagar Over Previous Dispute, Police Probe Underway

On Friday evening in Ulhasnagar, police apprehended five individuals suspected of murdering 26-year-old Rohit Jagdale, a man killed allegedly over a prior altercation in the Subhash Tekdi area. The accused have been identified as Pratham Banker, Atish Manohar, Aniket Kharat (known as 'Tom'), Sahil Mhaske and Pratik Kshetre. According to police, Jagdale was reportedly ambushed and attacked around midnight in the Subhash Tekdi area, suffering severe injuries from the assault which involved a paver block and a knife.

Despite the efforts of local residents, who helped him reach Central Hospital in Ulhasnagar, doctors pronounced him dead upon examination. Vitthalwadi Police, led by Senior Police Inspector Chandrahar Godse, initiated the probe following the incident. They conducted a thorough investigation using CCTV footage, witness statements and technical evidence to identify the suspects.

Initially, four suspects were arrested, but a fifth was apprehended by the Crime Branch, making the total count of arrests five. The preliminary investigation suggests that the attack may have been a result of a longstanding dispute between Jagdale and the accused. The police are continuing their investigation to ascertain the exact motive behind the killing and the nature of the dispute between the parties involved. They are also verifying the involvement and the role of each of the arrested accused in the case.
