Ex-Kogi gov candidate mourns Ibrahim Idris

Former Kogi State governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, has passed away, leaving behind a legacy of public service and community impact, according to a statement released by his former rival in the 2023 gubernatorial race, Alhaji Murtala Ajaka. Ajaka released the condolence message through his Head of Media & Public Communications, Prince Tijani Daud.

In his statement, Ajaka emphasized the profound impact Idris had on the political landscape of Kogi State, where he served from 2003 to 2012. He described Idris as an elder statesman whose contributions extended beyond his tenure as governor, highlighting his role in shaping the state's developmental journey.

Ajaka conveyed the deep sorrow felt by Idris' immediate family as well as the broader population of Kogi State and anyone touched by his service. He expressed his prayers for the former governor's forgiveness, the acceptance of his good deeds by Almighty Allah, and ultimately, the promise of a place in the Gardens of Paradise (Al-Jannah Firdaus).

Ajaka also extended his condolences to Omala Local Government Area, the Igala Kingdom, and the entire people of Kogi State, urging divine strength for the family and loved ones as they cope with their loss.
