2027: I did not arm youths to attack President Tinubu’s supporters – Abia deputy governor

Abia State Deputy Governor Ikechukwu Emetu has refuted a social media claim that he had enlisted and armed youths to assault supporters of President Bola Tinubu and members of the All Progressive Congress, APC, in certain areas of Abia State. Emetu declared the allegations from the Abia State branch of the Tinubu Support Group, TSG, as false and lacking any basis.

When addressed by his Chief Press Secretary, Cyril Chukwudi Eke Mba on Monday, Emetu challenged the Tinubu Support Group and its spokesperson, Enyinna Nwigwe, to provide audio, video, and other supporting proof to back their claims. Emetu, who declared he has no fear of inquiry, expressed his readiness to cooperate with legitimate investigations that could uncover the truth.

Emetu stated, "If the Tinubu Support Group or Mr. Nwigwe genuinely possesses information establishing these allegations, they are challenged to make such information available to the appropriate security agencies." He also urged the Nigeria Police Force and other pertinent security agencies to request Mr. Nwigwe to substantiate the allegations and furnish any evidence they claim to have about the alleged recruitment, mobilization, or arming of youths.
