Evening recap: Tinubu extends vacation, Dangote announces 2028 fertiliser IPO, other top stories

President Bola Tinubu has extended his working vacation in Europe by a few days and is set to return to Nigeria at the weekend, according to the Presidency. The Nigerian leader departed for London on August 30, before traveling to Paris, where he met French President Emmanuel Macron and businessman Vincent Bolloré.

Meanwhile, Dangote Group President Aliko Dangote confirmed that the fertiliser business of his company will be listed on the stock market in 2028, joking about the recent "board meeting" calls from Nigerian shareholders who recently bought shares in the Dangote Petroleum Refinery. This announcement comes after the group's recent public listing of its petroleum business.

Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun reportedly agreed to vouch for the conduct of activist Sunday Igboho, enabling him to return home for his mother's burial. Human rights lawyer Pelumi Olajengbesi disclosed this information.
