Don’t jump the gun on BN-PN seat allocation, Wawasan told

Melaka PAS leader Kamarudin Sidek has warned Wawasan against jumping to conclusions about the allocation of seats in the Perikatan Nasional (PN) party's upcoming state election, stating that no formal discussions have taken place between PN and Barisan Nasional (BN) on the matter. Kamarudin, who is also the Jasin PAS chief, emphasized that the party should respect its own leadership and negotiation process, as no decision has been made yet.

Wawasan vice-president Rahim Thamby Chik had previously claimed that PN would contest every Melaka seat if it fails to reach an agreement with BN, specifically targeting the Bemban and Sungai Udang seats. These seats were previously held by Bersatu, a component of PN that has since fallen out with the coalition's chair, PAS. Melaka BN chief Ab Rauf Yusoh urged parties interested in forming an alliance with the coalition for the state polls to exercise patience, as leaders from PN and Pakatan Harapan (PH) are pressing BN for a decision.
