Crown Prince launches CEER’s first electric vehicles, EXOBOT sedan and SUV

JEDDAH — Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia unveiled the first electric vehicles from CEER, the nation's top automotive company, on Monday. This marks a significant milestone in the Kingdom's endeavor to develop a cutting-edge automotive industry and bolster its industrial foundation.

Prince Mohammed expressed his satisfaction, stating that the launch signifies a pivotal step in Saudi Arabia's journey toward establishing a sustainable and thriving industrial ecosystem. He further highlighted how the automotive sector can serve as a crucial engine for economic growth, attracting investments, nurturing domestic talent, and bolstering the private sector's role in positioning Saudi Arabia as a prominent regional and global hub for the industry.

The EXOBOT sedan and SUV constitute the inaugural vehicles in a projected lineup of seven models that CEER aims to introduce within the next five years. The portfolio will encompass a diverse range of midsize and compact vehicles equipped with multiple propulsion alternatives, catering to an array of customer preferences.

Manufactured at the CEER Manufacturing Complex (CMC), the world's largest automotive production facility and one of the most technologically sophisticated in the Middle East, the EXOBOT sedan and SUV showcase a unique design influenced by Saudi Arabia's terrain and customs, while symbolizing the country's forward-thinking aspirations. Designed and engineered domestically, these vehicles adhere to global standards, as Saudi Arabia strives to assert its growing influence in the international automotive sector.

By 2034, CEER is anticipated to contribute over SR30 billion ($8 billion) to Saudi Arabia's gross domestic product and more than SR80 billion ($21 billion) to enhancing the Kingdom's trade balance, while simultaneously generating both direct and indirect quality employment opportunities. Established in 2022 by the Public Investment Fund (PIF) as Saudi Arabia's inaugural automotive brand, CEER seeks to foster the national industrial ecosystem, entice investments, create prospects for the private sector, and augment the sector's contribution to GDP.
