Casteism And Untouchability Are A Stigma On Hindu Society, Says RSS general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale

Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh: RSS general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale declared that birth-based discrimination, including casteism and untouchability, is not a part of Hindu culture. He emphasized that these stigmas must be overcome through individual conduct, not just through legislation. At a large gathering of RSS volunteers from five districts in Bhopal, he urged attendees to vow against caste discrimination and untouchability.

He stressed that societal challenges affect everyone, not just certain classes or communities. Hosabale argued that viewing oneself as separate based on caste, sect, language, or region weakens the organization's strength; instead, unity is crucial for societal advancement. He illustrated this point by comparing individual strength in a fist to the collective strength of a society working together.

Regarding patriotism, he urged constant, daily commitment rather than a single-day observance. He called for citizens to contribute to national interests in their localities, regardless of caste or creed, for at least an hour each day. He advocated organizing Hindu Sammelans to raise awareness against religious conversion and promote Hindu Rashtra to address various issues.

He emphasized the need to instill good manners in youth to foster personal and societal progress. The AIIMS director, Lt General (retired) Narendra Kotwal, was the chief guest. The Ganesh Utsav 2026 event, featuring numerous Ganpati pandals in Bhopal, was also mentioned.
