Cape Town unlocks affordable housing construction: Hill-Lewis

Cape Town Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis has announced the city's progress in unlocking the red tape surrounding affordable housing construction. The DA leader expressed that house building in various parts of the city will commence as early as next week. This year, the Constitutional Court ordered the city to submit a written report on plans to address the provision of adequate affordable housing.

Hill-Lewis formally launched the fifth electoral pledge targeting the construction of affordable housing, including in the city's surrounding townships. He spoke of the satisfaction of seeing a project, long discussed in Cape Town for over a decade, now moving forward after years of struggling with red tape and inefficiency. "Construction is now underway," Hill-Lewis declared with a sense of relief and accomplishment.
