Bekas pengurus pemasaran PPK didakwa guna dokumen palsu beli sawit RM500,000

Airulnizam Island, 44, former Bernam Jaya marketing director, pleaded not guilty in Shah Alam Court today to 27 charges of using fraudulent documents related to a sawit purchase worth more than RM500,000. He made the confession after all charges were read to a court interpreter in front of Judge Mohd Nasir Nordin. The allegations claim that he falsely used an invoice from Sawit TRC Sawit Sdn Bhd to Bernam Jaya between January 2020 and December 2022, totaling RM540,238.38.

This occurred at PPK Bernam Jaya, Lot PT 608 Simpang 4, Bagan Nakhoda Omar, Sabak Bernam. The defendant, who is also a civil servant in a government agency in Pulau Pinang, is charged under Section 471 of the Offences Against the Person Act and could be sentenced under Section 465 of the same act, which allows imprisonment for up to two years or a fine or both.

SPRM Investigator Mohd Alimi Mustapha offered a RM50,000 bail guarantee, which the defendant's lawyer, Hafiz Norkhan, requested the court to consider a minimum of RM15,000. Norkhan stated that the defendant has a wife and three children aged 16, 15, and 8. He also learned that the defendant's wife has recently been diagnosed with cerebral palsy.

The defendant voluntarily attended court and cooperated throughout the investigation. The court set the bail at RM20,000 and allowed all additional conditions, with the case to be continued on November 3.
