Bekas pengurus pemasaran PPK didakwa guna dokumen palsu beli sawit RM500,000

Airulnizam Island, 44, a former Bernam Jaya Marketing Manager, pleaded not guilty to 27 charges of falsifying documents related to the RM500,000+ purchase of sawit at Shah Alam court today. The 27 charges stem from a supposed deceitful use of an invoice - TRC Sawit Sdn Bhd to Bernam Jaya PPK between January 2020 and December 2022, totalling RM540,238.38.

The accused, who also worked as a government officer in Penang, is alleged to have committed the fraud under Section 471 of the Penal Code, with potential sentencing under Section 465 of the same code, which allows for imprisonment up to two years or a fine or both. SPRM Enforcement Officer Mohd Alimi Mustapha offered a RM50,000 guarantee, with the accused required to meet additional conditions including surrendering his passport to the court, reporting to the nearest SPRM office, and not obstructing prosecution witnesses.

The accused's lawyer Hafiz Norkhan requested the court consider a minimum guarantee of around RM15,000, noting the defendant's family of one wife and three children aged 16, 15 and 8. He also learned that the defendant's wife has recently been diagnosed with cerebral palsy. The defendant voluntarily attended court and cooperated throughout the investigation.

The court then set the guarantee amount at RM20,000 and allowed all additional conditions, with the case to resume on November 3.
