BC Conservatives interim leader says the party is ready for a snap election

The interim leader of the BC Conservative Party, Lorne Doerkson, has stated that the party is prepared for a potential snap election. Doerkson informed Global News that six former MLAs who left under former leader Kerry-Lynne Findlay have already returned to the party, with five accepting and others considering their options. Findlay announced her resignation on Sunday, stating it was the "right decision" for the province.

John Rustad, who was expelled from the party, has since been invited to rejoin the caucus. Doerkson reported a surge in support from caucus members seeking a government change, expressing confidence that Premier David Eby contemplating a snap election should reconsider. If the election does occur, Doerkson stated that the BC Conservatives would mobilize immediately and field a full slate of candidates.

Doerkson also hinted that CentreBC, a newly formed party led by former MLA Peter Milobar, could potentially be integrated into the BC Conservative Party, though no decision has been made yet.
