Aramco signs SAR 1.04 billion pipe manufacturing deals with Saudi firms

Saudi Aramco has inked two significant deals worth SAR 1.04 billion ($277 million) with two local pipe manufacturers, aiming to bolster equipment security in response to a recent pipeline attack. The deals were struck to ensure a steady supply of essential components for constructing and maintaining oil facilities. This strategic move came after an attack on the East-West oil pipeline on September 10, which raised concerns about operational continuity and infrastructure protection.

In addition to these local partnerships, Aramco recently collaborated with Swiss firm Sulzer to supply advanced pumps, further enhancing its operational capabilities and supply stability. On a regional front, Kuwait is engaging in discussions with Saudi Arabia and the UAE regarding the expansion of oil transport pipelines. This proposed expansion would facilitate the export of Kuwaiti crude oil through Saudi Arabia's Yanbu port, underscoring broader efforts to fortify energy security in the region.
