Apple releases second iOS 27.2 developer beta for iPhone

Apple has released the second beta of the upcoming iOS 27.2 update to developers for testing, following the initial iOS 27.2 beta released a week prior. The new beta also includes an iPadOS 27.2 beta, with registered developers able to download these beta updates through a designated section in their device settings. The iOS 27.2 update features Apple's redesigned Health app, now with new Insight and Longevity tabs, as well as Siri AI capabilities in new languages.

Additionally, there are several other new features that can be discovered in Apple's features guide. It was unexpected for Apple to release the iOS 27.2 beta before the iOS 27.1 beta, especially considering Apple's plans to launch the iPhone Duo alongside iOS 27.1. The iPhone Duo will showcase updated app layouts and features tailored for its dual-display design, including a vertical dock, vertical Dynamic Island, dual-screen app layouts, side-by-side multitasking, and exclusive Camera app capabilities.

Given the iPhone Duo's scheduled launch on October 23, Apple will need to release the iOS 27.1 update prior to that date. As the iOS 27.2 update introduces new Siri AI languages, it is also expected to be released during the month of October.
