Apple could steal Pixel’s homework for its Nest Hub rival and the iPhone Duo

Apple's long-awaited smart home display may launch as early as next month, according to recent reports. This device will reportedly feature its own home screen, widgets, clock faces, and will heavily rely on Siri AI. The smart display is also expected to incorporate facial recognition technology, similar to what has been seen in Pixel phones since the Pixel 8.

Rumors surrounding Apple's smart display have been circulating for years, with evidence surfacing a couple of months ago that the company is developing two smart displays codenamed J490 and J491. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman has now provided more details about these devices, suggesting that Apple may be borrowing a security feature from the Pixel for its smart displays.

According to the report, Apple is currently testing the upcoming smart home screen in several employees' homes. The device will reportedly come equipped with Wi-Fi support, an advanced display, a camera, and microphones. Furthermore, the smart home display will feature an intuitive user interface that combines elements from iOS, tvOS, and watchOS.
