최태원 “AI는 현상 알려주지만…사람의 공감이 문제 해결”

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is being considered as a solution for addressing future societal issues, but Hyundai Group Chairman Choi Taek warns that AI alone cannot solve them. Speaking at the opening of the "Social Value Festival" held on the 21st in Seoul's COEX, Choi emphasized that while AI can reveal the existence of a problem, it is people who must possess empathy and actualize solutions.

He stressed that the role of AI is limited and that "measuring the impact of social issues and creating appropriate compensation and investment based on the outcomes is required." Choi also highlighted his decade-long experiment called "Social Value Incentives," which resulted in 470 companies creating $540 billion in social value, leading to a 35% increase in corporate profits.

He emphasized that changing the social system is necessary for AI and societal structures to align effectively, resulting in tangible impacts. The Social Value Festival, which saw 400+ exhibition and market booths this year, featured solutions ranging from AI care to employment of the disabled, resource recycling, regional economic activation, and social enterprise products.
