49ers game grades: A Purdy good day on offense helps put Dolphins away

The San Francisco 49ers powered through a 35-13 victory over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, with an array of standout performances contributing to the outcome. Quarterback Brock Purdy put on an almost flawless display, completing 22 passes, throwing two touchdowns, rushing for another score, amassing 30 yards, and avoiding multiple sacks despite two hits.

Tight end George Kittle, recovering from a torn Achilles sustained last January, also contributed with a touchdown, 80 yards on four receptions, and an overall resurgence on the field. Defensive standout Raheem Morris led the team with four sacks, including rookie Romello Height's debut, and five tackles for a loss. Safety Ji Ayir Brown was instrumental with 13 total tackles, while Dre Greenlaw matched his single-season high with five solo tackles for the Broncos.

Special teams also delivered, with kicker Eddy Piñeiro successfully converting all five extra points and punter Corliss Waitman effectively pinning the Dolphins inside the 20-yard line on both of his kicks. Despite a late, meaningless 77-yard touchdown pass, the 49ers defense managed to stifle Miami's offense in the red zone, ultimately securing the win.

Coaching by Kyle Shanahan was deemed adequate, with the team distributing playing time evenly while avoiding undue strain on any one player. The only minor criticism, according to Ann Killion, was the opponent's caliber, but the win helped further solidify the team's readiness to continue their success.
