Two state lawmakers have accepted letters informing them they will not be appointed exco members of the Negeri Sembilan state government. Seremban: Gemencheh and Serting Adun Suhaimizan Bizar and Mohd Fairuz Mohd Isa are among 10 state lawmakers who took the oath to serve as exco members last month. Suhaimizan, who is also the chairman of the Health, Unity, Publicity, National Integration and Non-Government Bodies (NGO) Task Force, said he accepted the notification on Saturday, but he cannot comment further at this time when contacted by Bernama today.

Fairuz, who chairs the Task Force on Business, Human Resources, Climate Change, Cooperatives and Utilization, also responded in the same manner to Bernama today. According to a statement released by Negeri Sembilan Yang Di Pertuan Besar Azizi Mohamad Ali tonight, the Yang Di Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir, revoked the appointment of state assembly members as exco members de facto.

The statement clarified that the decision was made after finding that all exco members were involved in breaching their oath of office. Azizi said, according to Part XXXVIII(5) of the State Government Body Act 1959, a state assembly member holds their position as long as they receive approval from the Yang Di Pertuan Besar. The concerned lawmakers each took the oath and signed a pledge of loyalty on August 7 before being appointed to the Negeri Sembilan State Assembly.
