14-year-old boy stabbed during confrontation at southern Manitoba school

A 14-year-old boy was hospitalized in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, after sustaining a stab wound during an altercation at his school, according to RCMP. Emergency medical crews arrived on the scene and found the teenager receiving medical attention. He was subsequently transported to a Winnipeg hospital and is currently in stable condition.

The Portage la Prairie School Division issued a statement confirming that a student was stabbed on school grounds and received assistance from a staff member. In response to the incident, nearby schools and daycares were placed under a brief lockdown in the early morning hours. Police have charged a 15-year-old boy in connection with the incident and are awaiting further developments.
