Trump intends to appoint a senior official for artificial intelligence, dubbed the AI czar, and to establish an AI force modeled after the Space Force. The announcement coincides with ongoing debates in the US regarding the potential risks of AI, such as the possibility of human extinction within the next ten years, as estimated by two Anthropic employees. A Public First poll commissioned by Politico revealed that 78% of Americans consider the risk of human extinction due to AI as a possibility.
