Trinidad Chambliss defied expectations to lead Ole Miss to a 32-24 victory over LSU, a game that marked one of the most significant moments in college football this season. The 24-year-old, who initially appeared destined for a backup role, showcased his NFL-level talent on Saturday, completing 33 of 48 passes for 363 yards, including two touchdowns and one interception. He even scored the game-winning touchdown with a 14-yard run.

Chambliss, once a zero-star recruit, began his college football journey at Division II Ferris State before transferring to Ole Miss. Since becoming the starter in the third game of last season, the small-size quarterback has been nothing short of sensational. Last year, he earned the prestigious SEC Newcomer of the Year award and is currently the Heisman Trophy favorite, with odds to be the first overall pick in the 2027 NFL draft at an impressive +1500.

Despite some lingering doubts about Chambliss, his impressive performance against No. 7 LSU should put those concerns to rest.
